WXUS-FM Racing Challenge 2017

Official Rules


These official contest rules are specific to the WXUS-FM Racing Challenge 2017 contest.  Except to these specific rules as set forth below, the WXUS-FM station general contest rules shall also apply, a copy of which are available at the station’s business office during normal business hours, or station website.  To the extent of any differences between these rules, and the station general contest rules, these rules shall apply.  The contest is being operated by WXUS-FM, and sponsored by America Choice RV.


  1. There is no purchase necessary to enter or participate in the WXUS-FM Racing Challenge 2017 contest.  Making a purchase of any kind shall not increase your chances of winning.
  2. The contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws, and is void outside of Florida, and wherever prohibited.
  3. By participating, contestants agree to abide by and be bound by the Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and Contest Administrator.
  4. The contest shall occur beginning February 24, 2017 and ending on 11/19/2017, prior to the start of each designated professional stock car race.
  5. To be eligible to enter, participate or win, contestant must be legal U.S. resident of Florida, age 18 or older as of date of entry, and live within the broadcast listening area of WSUX-FM.  Contestants must also possess a valid form of photo identification. Employees of WSUX-FM and participating Sponsors, the advertising agencies, affiliates, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of WSUX-FM main studio are not eligible to win. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse.
  6. To enter, all required registration fields must be fully completed on the contest registration website available by linking from the station website, or by visiting directly There is a maximum of one entry per person.  Any incomplete or duplicate entries by the same individual, regardless of use of alternate email addresses, shall be disqualified.  Use of any invalid or false name, addresses, emails or other information shall render the entry void and such entry will be disqualified.  Contestants may only participate on their own behalf.  Entrants must create a screen name, username (email address) and password, and login using such credentials to submit and save their weekly predictions in the Racing Challenge 2017 contest. 
  7. Each week prior to the start of that week’s designated professional stock car ‘Cup Series’ race (Monster Energy Cup Series Races) as listed on the contest website, entrants must save and submit their prediction of the Top 10 finishers of that race, in their exact order of finish (1 – 10).  There shall be a total of (36) available races during the contest period, and each race shall require a separate prediction to participate.  Contestants must select and save a driver from the available list on the contest site.  Sponsor and Contest Administrator are not responsible for any driver changes or substitutions, or any other error, that results in a particular race car driver not being listed or made available for selection.  Any race in which a Top 10 finishing driver was not available, shall  be disqualified from any grand prize opportunity for that race.  All predictions must be submitted and saved each week, prior to the designated deadline as listed on the contest site, which shall occur prior to the start of each race.  Any entry not submitted or saved for any reason, including technical error, failure or difficulty, user error or mis-entry of information, programming or human error, internet traffic, transmission error or connection difficulty, hacking or any other reason, shall be disqualified.  Only entries as actually received in the contest entrant database shall be eligible for participation for each race.
  8. Determination of results:  Following the conclusion of each weekly race, Sponsor shall compare the actual race results with the Top 10 prediction received by each eligible contestant.  Only the official and final race results as released by race officials shall determine the actual results for the Top 10 finishers, including any changes or alteration or disqualification or forfeit of any driver in the final determination of the race results.
  9. Scoring:  Eligible contestants shall receive 10-points for each driver who they have correctly predicted in the exact order of finish among the actual Top 10 finishers for that particular race.  For example, if a driver is predicted to finish in 3rd place, and actually results in a 3rd place finish in the final race results, that contestant’s prediction shall be awarded 10-points for that race.  Eligible contestants shall receive 3-points for each driver prediction who finishes anywhere among the Top 10 finishers based upon the final race results.  For example, if a particular driver is predicted to finish in 1st place, and that driver finishes in 10th place in the final race results, that contestant’s prediction shall be awarded 3-points for that race.  If a registered contestant fails to submit or save a prediction, or their prediction is not received for any reason prior to the submission deadline, the contestant will receive 0 points for that particular race.
  10. Grand Prize:  In order to claim the grand prize award, an eligible contestant must have correctly predicted the Top 10 Finishers in their exact order of finish (1 – 10) for a designated race, thereby scoring a perfect 100-points for that particular race.  In the event of an eligible winning prediction, according to the requirements of these official rules, that contestant shall be awarded the grand prize subject to verification of compliance and approval by the Sponsor and Contest Administrator.  The grand prize is:  $50,000 Cash.  There will be a maximum of one grand prize award available in the contest, to the first eligible contestant who successfully completes the grand prize winning requirements.  In the event multiple contestants successfully complete the grand prize winning requirements in the same week, those contestants shall evenly split the cash value of the prize award.  If there is no eligible contestant who successfully completes the grand prize winning requirements during the contest period, then the grand prize shall NOT be awarded.
  11. Season Long Bonus Prize:  The points champion at the end of the contest period, who has scored the most points during the entire contest period, as determined by Sponsor, shall be awarded the Season Long Bonus Prize.  The Season Long Bonus prize is:  $500 Visa Gift Card, subject to the terms and conditions of the Visa gift card policy.  In the event of a tie, the Top Season Long point winner will be determined by the tie-breaker based upon each tied contestant’s prediction of the Average Speed of the 1st place finisher in the last race of the season.  The contestant with the closest prediction to the actual Average Speed will be declared the winner.  If a contestant has failed to submit an average speed prediction for the last week of the season, their default prediction will be 0 mph.  If there remains a tie between any contestants, then the sponsor shall conduct a random draw among the tied contestants to determine the Top Season Long point winner.
  12. Winner(s) must accept prize delivery as specified by Sponsor.  Winners shall be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release, and a W-9 form if prize value exceeds $600.  Winner(s) of prizes over $600 will be issued a 1099 tax form, and are solely responsible for any resulting income or other taxes for prize acceptance.  Any other costs related to prize acceptance or use, are the sole responsibility of winner.  All prize awards are non-transferable, have no cash value and may not be redeemed or exchanged for any other prize, except as provided herein.  Sponsor reserves the right to award an alternate prize of equal or greater value, at its sole discretion.  Any winner who does not meet the eligibility requirements or elects to decline their prize award, shall be disqualified and prize will not be re-awarded.
  13. IN CASE OF DISPUTES:  By participating, each entrant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest, or the prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and any judicial proceeding shall take place in a federal or state court within the State of Florida; (2) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, and in no event will entrant be entitled to received attorneys' fees or other legal costs; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with this Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of Florida or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Florida.
  14. Administrator reserves the right to cancel, modify or terminate the Contest if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy or threaten the integrity of this portion of the Contest, in the opinion of the Administrator, or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper conduct of the Contest as determined by Administrator, in its sole discretion. In the event of early termination of the Contest, Administrator reserves the right to determine the season long bonus prize winner based upon the current scoring results.
  15. Participation in Contest constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its designees to use entrants’ names, cities and states of residence and/or likenesses for purposes of advertising and trade in any and all media now or hereafter known worldwide on perpetuity without limitation or further compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.  False, fraudulent or deceptive entries or acts shall render entrants ineligible for the prize. By participating, entrants agree to hold all Released Parties harmless from any claims, losses, actions, or damages of any kind, whether actual, incidental or consequential, for injury (including but not limited to death), damages, losses or expenses arising out of or relating to entrant’s participation in this Contest, or the acceptance, possession or use/misuse of the prize (including any injury or harm resulting from use of the vehicle), and to assume all liability thereof.  Participants are restricted to use of ordinary and typical computer equipment and Internet access. Administrator disclaims all liability for the inability of a participant to complete or continue an entry due to equipment malfunction, busy lines, inadvertent disconnections, acts beyond the Administrator’s control, or otherwise.  Released Parties disclaim any liability for entries not received due to technical difficulties or transmission errors. Released Parties disclaim all liability for any delays, mis-delivery, loss, or failure in the delivery of any item sent by mail, courier, express, electronic transmission, or other delivery method.  Released Parties are not responsible for mechanical, technical, electronic, communications, telephone, computer, hardware or software errors, malfunctions or failures of any kind, including: failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed transmission of online entries, traffic congestion on telephone lines, the Internet or at any website or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit an online entrant's ability to participate in the Contest, and any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any information necessary to participate in the Contest.  Released Parties are not responsible for any other errors of any kind, whether computer, technical, typographical, printing, human or otherwise, relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitations, errors which may occur in connection with the printing or advertising of this Contest, administration or execution of the Contest, the processing of entries or in the announcement of the prize or prize winner.
